625 BROADWAY OFFICE COMPLEX : NYS-Department Of Environmental Conservation, Albany, NY
New construction to house the headquarters of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This building was designed, constructed and commissioned to achieve a LEED’s certification. Both commissioning and advanced commissioning for the entire building were required for the certification.
Building M/E/P systems include a high-efficiency boiler plant, central chilled water plant, VAV air systems with outdoor air economizers, primary electric power systems, emergency generator, full coverage sprinkler systems, fire pump, modular electric power distribution, and telecommunication wiring utilizing raised access flooring.
Detailed field observations of installed equipment were followed by specific testing of individual components and systems. This testing and re-testing verified that systems operated correctly in the normal mode and in various upset conditions. Energy saving operating routines were tested and verified. Commissioning activities were documented and reported to the owner and the sponsoring agency. Construction of the new 14-story office building which will house the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Office.
The major Mechanical and Electrical features include the following:
- 1000 Ton High Efficiency Chilled Water Plant with Variable Speed Pumping.
- Variable Air Volume System with Eight Central Station Air Handling Units with Variable Speed Supply and Return Fans.
- Primary Electric Service (34.5 kV with Dual Transformers and Double Ended Switchboard
- 1500 Kw Diesel Emergency Generator
- Full Raised Access Floor for Power and Tel/Data Distribution to Workstations.
