Quantum Engineering Co., PC was selected as a team member to investigate moisture migration problems through the exterior walls of an early 20th Century House Museum. The house constructed of a wood frame with stucco exterior finish suffered from severe deterioration of the brown coat of stucco. The problem was rooted in the high relative humidity indoor conditions, which were maintained to preserve the fine arts collection. The solution requires several actions including a reconsideration of the humidifier control strategy to one which is seasonally graduated as well as several other moisture migration reduction provisions.
